I feel like to get stronger you just have to do the workouts that are miserable. Obviously this sounds dumb but for beginners and those just getting started, if the workout is tiring and miserable, it’s probably beneficial

Two years of exercise have shown me that the main difference between beginners and people who go regularly is motivation and enjoyment. The best advice I can give is to find your motivation or motivation for exercising. It may sound crazy but for me the gym is relaxing, and an excuse to catch up on my favorite audio dramas, even when hack squatting 365 I usually put on an audio drama podcast or audiobook on.

This is coming from someone who only does calisthenics and basic weight lifting but as long as you focus on form and feeling, results will show

I'm going to disagree slightly because beginners holding the belief that working out should be miserable (which I'm taking to mean unpleasant/uncomfortable?) is kind of dangerous... Since they don't yet know what the proper form and feeling are they might think an exercise is supposed to hurt and push through but end up causing permanent damage with injury

You make a good point. I hope people can think critically and understand a painful vs beneficial work out but that’s not always the case and there are plenty of reasons an individual may not be able to make a distinction.

I guess this post is more to help those googling the best way to strengthen this, or fix that. More often than not, doing the basic workouts should help build areas someone is concerned about through repetition (assuming no injury or disability)
