-16 lbs down today, haven’t seen this number in so long since early high school, insane. Question though.. I seem to be losing 0.5lbs a day no matter what, I have been eating proper calories too so not much changed there… idk what’s going on atp

Im not on any special diet either.. I reduced my cals but the healthy recommended amount not like 1200 cals 🥲 it’s slightly lower than my maintenance but I’m still losing so much.

It’s one of three things, you either A have a very large amount of body fat and it’s therefore easier to lose it quicker, B you’re eating way under your maintenance, or C you’re not weighing yourself with similar conditions each day (hydration levels, time of day, time from last meal, etc.)

Congratulations on the weight loss obv but be careful because half a pound a day consistently is way faster than most would deem healthy. Keep in mind your energy levels during exercise and your strength, because feeling exhausted or getting weaker is a good sign that you’re losing weight too fast

I barely eat under my maintenance (I’m really short), I was 130 lbs, I weigh myself in the morning after using the bathroom, typically don’t eat after 8 pm, and I drink close to 3L a day.

That’s what I thought! I thought it was extremely unhealthy but I thought it was weird how fast I was losing it when I’m being conscious about it so I don’t lose too much. I cut out dairy and soda because they make me severely sick but that’s pretty much the only restrictions besides cutting out alcohol

How did you calculate your maintenance? Does your calculation take into account your physical activity?

You might need to see a doctor if you’re losing that much weight while barely eating under maintenance. In order to lose half a pound of fat a day you would need to consistently be eating 1750 calories below your maintenance

I think it has to do with digestive issues maybe? Im seeing a doctor in a few weeks about that. My stomach has never been normal and I get sick A LOT with almost any foods, it’s completely random. My maintenance is 1,890 (bc of height, weight, and I don’t exercise too much maybe 2-3x a week for an hour) but not very active besides that bc of work and I typically have been eating 1,500-1,600 cals.

Very small chance you have some sort of nutrient absorption issue in your stomach if you have problems like that regularly. I would just tell your doctor about the weight loss and the calorie deficit and everything if you haven’t already and see what they say. Good luck with that though, that sounds like it’s not very convenient
