Trying to eat about 2 g of protein per lb of lean muscle mass is a challenging endeavor to say the least.

high protein diet is good to build muscle but 2x your bw in lbs is excessive

you don't need to do that. 1.0-1.2g is just fine.

I’m pretty sure to build muscle mass you only need 1.5-1.7 grams/kg of body weight

Also your body can only absorb so much protein at one time so there is a good chance if you’re eating 2g/lb that your not actually absorbing it ally

I still think for principles of putting on mass, more protein will help
