Barely 1200 it actually made me gain fat so I had to reverse diet bc my metabolism was so messed up

Valid dude Ive been in the same situation I ended up going from 2400 maintenance for a while and then I worked my way to 3200 calories. Im still going strong I might crack 3300 before the cut

Your body thinks you're in danger of starving and stores more energy as fat. Less calories out

Your body adapts to the lower calories by making the calories you consume more efficient. That’s why people in concentration camps survived on 800 calories and needed to slowly adjust to more food. It stores mostly fat to survive because it thinks it’s starving. Whenever your body is well fed it becomes less efficient with its calories allowing a higher calories intake and more adaptation.

This is very true I would gain weight so fast when I was eating so so little now I’m dropping weight eating more

Love to hear it. People think that bulking is unnecessary and they have no idea how much better they could feel and how much more they could be eating because their scared of getting fat when most of the time you just look more muscular.
