“(Insert barbell movement) isn’t optimal for hypertrophy” really grinds my gears. Nobody who can bench 315 has a small chest. Nobody who can squat 400 has small legs. Nobody who deadlifts 5 plates has a small back. Lift the weight.

yeah but you can get bigger faster with other movements. if i deadlift for hypertrophy, my core and back will reach failure way before my hamstrings. if i want faster progress a leg extension or other isolation is the way to go
