on the scale i’m “maintaining weight” but i look leaner than i ever have, feel the strongest ive ever felt, and am the most active ive been since graduating high school. i’m eating around a 400 cal deficit and have been slamming protein. see comments

my goal was around 5 lbs lower but i’m not sure if it’s even attainable for my body tbh. are these good indicators for a successful body recomp?

i would say yes! you’re clearly at a stable healthy weight for your body and as you said trying to lose more than this is probably pushing it.

You’re probably maintaining bc you’re losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle is more dense than fat so actually if you somehow lost fat proportionally to your muscle gains (which ik is like saying ‘if I threw this ball at a 45 degree angle in a vacuum’) you’d actually gain pounds. So this is probably the point in your journey to stop watching the scale and just focus on how you feel and look, listen to your body’s cues, eat a healthy amount of food and take care of your body!
