Don’t flame me if this a stupid post please 🙏. I’m skinny as fuck and wanna gain some size. I don’t need to be jacked I just don’t want to be a twig. Social anxiety sucks so going to a gym seems scary - bought a pull up bar but no idea where to start tbh

calisthenics will be your friend bc you never need to step foot in a gym unless you want. start with the basics (pullups, pushups, dips, and squats). do however many as you can or close to it for a few sets each. find ways to make the exercise easier or harder depending on what you need.

Pull up bar is going to hit one muscle group out of 7. I get anxiety and I was in your exact position when I started. Go during non busy hours to start, so early in the morning, late at night, or around 2 in the morning afternoon. There will be people and it’ll be a good start to get over your anxiety. If you want to gain muscle fr you need a lot more than a pull up bar. and you’re going to have to eat a lot more. A lot more then you think you need to eat too

if you have the strength, do pull ups. maybe you can only start with 1-5. if 5 is a struggle. spam 2-3 as many times a day as you can. it doesn’t need to be one session of 50 pull-ups. maybe you do 2-3 every time you walk by it. if you can’t. do dead hang holds and pull ups negatives the same way i said above until you build enough strength to pull up under your own power

Everyone was once a starter. I promise if people are looking at you it’s bc they want to help. There are so few gym assholes irl, social media just makes it seems like there’s a lot.
