So I’ve been going to the gym for 2 months now because I bought this Spider-Man onesie that is very revealing. Can you even tell the hard work I put in? On the bright side at least I’m living healthier now 💪

Lowkey honesty is appreciated. I think the true lesson in this is that you shouldnt work out for other people’s approval because no one is even going to notice or care and you are your own inspiration. Look as long as i at least look “good” so i dont need to feel self conscious about my appearance that all i really need to hear is

Also overdoing it is gonna be proportional to the weight your comfortable with, eventually if dips start to feel good to the point where you can add weight then your chill days might just be a couple reps without added weight

Regardless of all this I’m still proud of myself because I went from struggling with 95 lbs on the bench to PR 155 on bench and actually able to do both tri cep dips and pull ups as well as being able to do squats on power lift machine which I have been afraid to do for the longest time and am now even able to do 135 lbs. They are small numbers but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made

Honestly I wouldn’t even consider those “small numbers”, maybe for someone who’s been lifting for that’s true but the progress from 95 to 155 is a pretty good jump. Either way, you’re more capable than you were yesterday so good job

Lowkey major shoutouts go to focusing more on tri ceps and doing dips. Having stronger triceps really helps with lifting heavier weights on the bar

Yeah I started being really bad on triceps so I implemented doing assisted dips everyday for a workout and now I can do 3 sets of 10 reps tricep dips unassisted. Although I saw a study that you should do dips every other day since if you work on them too much it runs the risk of overexertion. Is this true, I just really don’t want to injure myself or negatively impact my performance at the gym

From what I know that is true, also you get more gains if you give them time to rest between working them anyhow

Ok but what if I just go lighter on dips the next day. Maybe do like a heavy weight on the assisted machine so I can still work on technique? Or would you say that is overdoing it?

I’d imagine so, as long as you’re not going super hard every day then you’ll probably be good. I say this as someone who also does a sport and consistently use the same muscle groups daily and have run into very few problems with it but also I am just a random dude on the internet so I’d trust your source if it seems credible
