No, c’mon that’s not true. We can’t just lie to newbies. It absolutely does hurt afterwards for the first year or two. They’re gonna wake up sore

If you aren’t sore after, you either aren’t a beginner or you didn’t really do anything. When you challenge your muscles in new ways, DOMS are a given

Big difference between pain from an injury and pain from soreness. If you're training hard you should get sore, but an injury is entirely different and is not normal

i was sore the first session back after a while, but other than that no, and i’ve been making very rapid gains

Agreed, but I think a lot of intermediates attribute their experience to not getting sore when in actuality they're not training hard enough/smart enough to make progress
