I never understand why people post these super dark photos where you can hardly make out the details of what they are supposedly trying to show

First off… ya blind? Secondly, to show volume and texture. If you had light blasted from every angle then you would not be able to see cuts and grooves. That is why people have hard downlighting

There is a difference between downlighting and poor lighting. The light source here is down light but it’s really weak with way too much shadow to really show your physique. From what I can see you look solid you probably don’t need to hide anything in shadows like some people who use this lighting do
