Guys I’ve been going to the gym for 2 years but feel like I haven’t seen much progress how can I go back to the basics to really master form and shit bc I feel like the more I workout the less I actually know and progress seems to just reverse (am a girl)

Don’t be afraid to drop weight and relearn proper form. Had to reteach myself how to squat and went from repping 315 with terrible form all the way down to 185 with perfect form. Then went back up incrementally. Leg growth skyrocketed. Form is way more important for growth than the number of plates on the bar.

Watch YT tutorials for technique. Make sure you’re progressively overloading and are going to failure.

if it's been two years and you haven't made progress you're probably making a mistake with the following: 1. are you progressively overloading? (can you lift more weight over time?) 2. are you eating enough? (are you maintaining or increasing your weight?) 3. are you getting within 0-2 reps of failure on your last set? 4. are you sleeping eight hours a day?

I’ve always done it alone too and never rly had anyone to teach me and I can’t afford a trainer or some course or smth like I know theoretically a lot but evidently it doesn’t appear as though I do

What are your goals with the gym I feel thats the most important place to start

Fair enough my primary goal is to improve physique which means losing body fat and increasing/decreasing muscle mass in certain areas and secondary is to boost cardio fitness and strength/flexibility and stuff

What makes you think you haven’t been improving?

I haven’t been losing weight/inches or noticing any muscle build up and haven’t rly been able to feel heavier weights in the right muscles when I try to move up

don't worry about feeling it, worry about whether you can lift the heavier right with good form
