
1) What’s the reason you want to lose weight? Because depending on that, there is different things you can do. 2) Calorie deficit. No matter what you choose to do, nothing will happen without the deficit. And, if you move more, your maintenance calories you used to eat become your deficit. 3) Did you want to replace it with muscle? If so, lifting weights and NOT STOPPING. You have to keep going up in weight. The soreness is your muscle fibers breaking and rebuilding themselves stronger.
Well, I say first, start popping into the gym every now and then. Make sure you have 1-2 hrs to spare. See what weights feel best and tbh, people watch. Look at peoples form, ask what their exercise does for them and such. Learn as much as you can before you commit. Then, time for the kitchen part. Find your maintenance calories and subtract about 200-400 calories from that. NEVER go lower than 1200 though, your body can’t survive that.
