I’ve slowly lost weight over the past year and half through running losing roughly 20 pounds. But I’ve plateaued and cant seem to reach my goal physique. I want to start lifting any tips? My diet is all over aswell. I just maintained a calorie deficit.

If you want to gain muscle or get that “toned” look- you might gain weight bc muscle weighs more than fat. So be mentally prepared for that. Also, to build muscle your body needs protein. It’s ok to start small like add a Greek yogurt with your breakfast, eat more chicken/beef/eggs

Also, when you start: good form is key. Don’t focus on how much you lift, focus on the quality of movement, full range of motion, and protection of your back/joints/etc

Go back to maintenance for a while and lift heavy, after at least 8 weeks at maintenance go back to cutting. Your body is very efficient and adjusts to the conditions, focus on maintaining 35-35-30 or 40-30-30 protein-carb-fat ratios, eating 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight
