Also, YOU NEED TO EAT. Most of the influencers online are not eating enough and they are encouraging unhealthy eating habits. You need to eat to get muscle and to stay healthy. 16 times your weight is what you should be eating to maintain.

So why am I not losing weight if my maintenance is 2.6k and I’m eating 1.4ish?

Sorry I ran out of space. A good maintenance diet is your weight in pounds times 16. So i weigh 175 which means 2800 is my maintenance calorie intake. Yes it sounds high but if you’re active, you need to eat enough calories to fuel yourself. And then if I wanted to cut I would subtract like 200-400 calories from that so eating around 2500 calories a day. I’m a personal trainer, an exercise science student and I’m friends with many physical therapists so my data is correct also

Because that’s way too little for someone to be eating and your body doesn’t know what to do. It’s like shoved into fight or flight mode and your metabolism doesn’t know how to handle it. I learnt this the hard way but you can’t just stop eating because it doesn’t help

I did 1.4k for 2 months and lost 10 lbs, this calculator is telling me I need 2080 cals maintenance but I’m doing that much rn and bulking significantly. maybe it’s just me but 16x feels pretty off

1.4 really really isn’t healthy though. And you shouldn’t be bulking at 16x your body weight. You’re sure you’re not eating more?

I was at 130 going to 120, 1400 was fine for me. no real issues honestly just had to stay hydrated
