Consistency is key. Learn your limits and when you can actually push yourself. Make sure wiping stuff down afterwards to.

a couple things i learned: dumbbells/non machine lifting can be more affective for your muscles depending on what's best for you! i started with machines and eventually transitioned to just lifting, and also smaller sets + heavier weights! because you're just starting out, like someone else said figure out your limits first, but both of those really helped me :)

Bring headphones or something even if you don’t play music it can get you out of your head

Commit to consistency, not perfection. Get a split that works for you (upper/lower or push/pull/lift are good). Bring headphones. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Train until failure. Learn about rep ranges. Train heavy and HAVE FUN

Show up not for others but for yourself, even when you don’t feel like it. Even if you have days where your gym session is the best or you don’t eat the best don’t beat yourself up for it. Remember to give yourself grace!

oh also!! cardio AFTER lifting, cardio before can tire out your body, causing you to lift less, it's better to jump right into it and then finish with cardio, as this helps to sorta "set the work you did in place", but this is also a personal preference!
