i’m trying to build an ass. i have nothing right now, and it’s just getting flatter as i lose weight. i don’t know what to do to help. i need tips! apparently my glutes are so dormant that i never feel the burn there, only in my thighs and hips

google glute activation movements & do glute activation with a band before the workout. hip thrusts are probably the easiest exercise to feel in your glutes without much thought. definitely start including the weights now otherwise you’re just going to keep getting smaller with the same shape

For some people it is really hard to be able to feel the burn in your glutes, I’ve found it helpful to spend some time on the Stairmaster while actively thinking about the muscles I want to feel. Mind-muscle activation, it gets easier with practice & focus.

you can work the muscle without feeling the burn. follow a glute hypertrophy routine. like another poster said, warming up with glute activation and hip thrusts will help. make sure you're using weights that are heavy for you, reaching failure on your last set, and using good form.

I love sumo squats, fire hydrants, donkey kicks, curtesy lunges, leg lifts (you lay on your side and lift/lower your leg, then switch)
