
Likely part of it is mental, just knowing that you’re depriving yourself of something is going to somewhat make you overthink it, and that’s really hard because it’s not super fixable. Given that your deficit is small, I would recommend maybe adding in at least one cup of low-calorie vegetables before meals. My personal favorite way to do this is to warm up something like cauliflower rice with peas and added to soup broth.
The veggies don’t have to be a certain shape. I just prefer cauliflower rice texturally to like big pieces. I will admit I never really worried about sodium content on a diet so I really did explore with fun broth flavors during this time+ veggies to include. You can also get tomato paste tubes to keep in the fridge that lasted a really long time to add flavor.
