weights are probably the best thing for you! not sure what your connective tissue issues are but I did a year long project on strengthening connective tissue and quasistatic movements and mechanical tension worked wonders

my dr suggested pilates, qigong, and swimming for my EDS. I've also found rock climbing and biking fun but it's best to get professionally fitted for a bike, you can irritate your SI joints if your posture isn't right

ok ok, no one on my project team had hEDs so do not know for sure how this translates but we spent a year researching and designing a workout to strengthen connective tissue and we all did the exercises daily and over the year we saw improvements in connective tissue strength. mechanical tension is hugeeee for activating fibroblasts to secrete collagen and remodel connective tissue so when lifting focus on time under tension

but building muscle is super important for hEDs it can help hold everything in place when your ligaments and connective tissue can’t. I nearly tore through a ligament in my knee and it would randomly dislocate and building the surrounding muscles was soooo helpful to hold it in

I don’t have HEDS, but I’m hypermobile and lifting has really helped me! Starting with machines has been great because they’re good at making sure you have correct posture while you’re doing it so that you don’t hurt yourself on accident
