Y’all I can never find good answers for this- is walking 6 miles per day (not “ambient steps”, actual dedicated brisk walks) highly active?

Not if you’re not doing other things to help with it. If you’re just walking but then going and laying in bed all day eating trash, no. If you’re not doing other workouts, no.

I eat fairly okay (focus on Whole Foods with a daily allowance for a processed thing like granola or protein cereals) and work a semi-physical job where I’m on my feet for several hours a day.

It is my primary form of physical activity, but I’m definitely not laying in bed or anything, and I do get around 1-2 hours of noticeably raised heart rate from a combo of my walks and doing things like heavy lifting or dragging boxes at work, though the bulk of shifts are spent standing (gotta love retail)
