How do I get started in the gym? I’m somewhat eating right and wanting to get active, but I don't want a place that's too crowded. Any gym recs, or first-day tips?

Also try to remember no one in the gym was born with their muscles, everyone is probably a tad nervous walking out of the locker room and joining in the mix and everyone started and had clueless days in their beginning

Hardest part is starting. Just go and do anything you can always ask front desk for help

I’m in the same boat as you. I go to planet fitness (low stakes because I see plenty of people from beginners to body builders and middle of the road people) and I scan the barcode on the machine and watch the videos. Also took my mom (if you know anyone who will show you the ropes) and show you how each machine works if they’re willing to go with you for a couple hours. Lowkey I try not to stare at people but sometimes watching from afar and seeing what other people do can be helpful

Yes this person is right! WAY better choice to ask the front desk to show you how to use a machine (no shame) instead of making a big ruckus or hurting yourself. Machines aren’t always as straightforward as they seem especially if you haven’t used them before (myself)

Truly! I found many places like the HealthPlex and Planet Fitness, I just need to get started. Just walk in. ♥️
