holy shit, gorgeous work—such clean intricate inking and dynamic composition! def appropriate for this community, I agree that the tone & makeup style are sufficiently “gothic”. the aesthetic reminds me vaguely of old German expressionist cinema like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari & morbid psychedelia animation like Belladonna of Sadness

Thank you so much!! And I’ve been aware of German expressionist cinema for a while now and belladonna of sadness more recently, but I never looked too deeply into either so I’ll be sure to do that sometime soon!

based on your visual style I get the sense that both films I mentioned might be creatively inspiring for you, do check them out if you’re so inclined (massive content warning for sexual violence in Belladonna of Sadness though, it’s mostly depicted in metaphor but still highly brutal. not fetishistic or eroticized, at least…)
