tbh it is SO nice to have a basic sewing machine! they’re not too complicated, I think you can get them for cheap, and it really saves your fingers & your sanity

Basic running stitches and back stitches will get you really far, as long as you can keep the thread tight and tie it off you should be good. You can also use dental floss for thread
