For me I still only used my credit cards while paying them down and when I get paid every week assuming I didn’t have a bill going through my checking account that week I sent my entire check to my credit cards the same night I got paid that way it didn’t even feel like the money came into my acc.Also adding someone to my credit card app so they got an alert when I spent money made me sit and think if I actually wanted to spend the money since someone else would see it and that was a huge help.

I also switched which cars I would use every few weeks so I didn’t spend too much on one without noticing
