And the life and life quality of a fully sentient human with the capacity to feel pain will always take precedence over a not sentient, unbaked potential person. It’s that simple. No one is saying a kid should have to die so people can hook up, we’re not advocating for infanticide. Most abortions happen in the first trimester.
What defines personhood? Sentience, awareness, and embryo or fetus has none of those things. It’s not even about age. If a brain dead or comatose fully grown person was somehow critically attached to a sentient person it wouldn’t be right to force that person to use their body to sustain them either. And I don’t think you’re being genuine when you say a mother doesn’t take precedence over an embryo. That’s insane. One party can feel pain, has loved ones, life goals, and can comprehend mortality.
No one is advocating for that bro 🤦🏼♀️ I’m not in favor of infanticide. I’m not even in favor of third trimester abortions unless the mothers life is in danger. But an embryo is not a person. A fetus is not a person. And endangering the lives and wellbeing of mothers for something that cannot even feel is insane.
The mother's life & well-being are RARELY in danger & we can thank modern medicine for that. This isn't 1900, my friend. Women have every avenue available to them to avoid pregnancy, as do men. With both man & woman trying to avoid pregnancy, it will likely not happen as the chances again are incredibly rare. Abortion is not a contraceptive. A fetus, a beautiful baby, is a human being & worthy of equal protection under the law. The fact you advocate for the murder of any human being is insane.
Again, not advocating for murder. I don’t believe in infanticide or third trimester elective abortions. But you also fail to recognize that part of the reason *why* women no longer die or become seriously injured in childbirth as frequently is because of abortion. Women have been opting out of high risk pregnancies since the flipping Han dynasty, pal. I do think people should use contraception more often and abortion should seriously be a last resort- but it should still be available.
Did I not already articulate that I’m against specific cases like this? At two pounds that’s almost certainly a 3rd trimester abortion. This and taking mifepristone are two different things. Also he conveniently leaves out the circumstances that led to this abortion. Was the mother’s life was in danger here? Was the fetus incompatible with life? Also if abortion was illegal at the time, under what circumstances exactly did he see this take place??
