Literally not trying to be a negative but I’ve always wondered why worry about bringing debt down unless it’s like really affecting your credit score? Like the entire country is in debt. Kind of seems like it’s the new normal

(A) it was already affecting my credit score, (B) letting any ‘small’ amount of debt by can let it spiral out of control, my dad had huge debts that started the same way. The amount I was in debt with was more than I had in my bank acc. (C) even if it’s normal, that doesn’t mean it’s good?(D) It was the result of a bit too much ‘retail therapy’ during a p rough year. Def not the reminder I want going into 2026.

I bought literally nothing but the minimal groceries the whole month, I had roadmarks where I could buy something I actually wanted.
