I broke my social media addiction!! I just tried to doomscroll on TikTok today and I felt so bored I couldn’t even do it. It only took two weeks and now I literally don’t even enjoy scrolling on social media.

I wish I was you😭when I was in 9th/10th I played the piano, I was in clubs, I read a bunch of books for fun. Now that I’m a freshman in college, I don’t do any of those anymore and my screen time is five hours😭 and what’s worse is that I don’t even post much on social media, just scroll

It’s not so much that it bores me, it just gives me so much anxiety. I curbed my TikTok addiction months ago, and when I try to get on it now I just instantly get so nervous. And the thing is, I was ALWAYS that nervous when I was on it before, I just got used to it overtime. I never realized how horrible it was to my mental health until I distanced myself from it.

I got this app called ScreenZen and I was able to set whatever limits I wanted on social media. For a while I had it set at 7 times a day for 20 minutes each, but now I literally only want to go on TikTok like twice a day for like 10 minutes each

I love screen zen! Though it’s worth saying while it’s helped me it definitely didn’t work this well

Well this is like my fifth time using it LOL. The first four times did not work that well at all but I think now I was just finally done with social media so it worked for me. I definitely think you have to put in more effort, and let the app just serve as a reminder

LOL I know. I still use social media but I’m not addicted to it like I used to be. I used to mindlessly scroll tiktok for hours and not be able to put the phone down, but now I’m able to use it much more casually for brief periods of time

I used ScreenZen to help cut back on my usage, but you really have to be willing to do it yourself. I’ve tried to do this so many times but now it’s finally worked because I decided I was done with wasting all my time scrolling. I still use social media but much less, which I think makes it easier. Just pick up some hobbies in whatever you find interesting and put more of an effort into reaching out to friends! It really feels great

Genuinely what is stopping you?? I was the same exact way. I literally had a screentime of like 10 hours a day and decided that I was tired of it. If I can do it, I have no doubts that you can too. Pick up some hobbies or make new friends!!
