In Chimp society, which is a patriarchy, female chimps mate with males out of survival, because resources are too scarce and competitive. In Bonobo society, which is a matriarchy, females mate with males who have high status moms, and males who aren’t overly selfish or aggressive towards infants or females.

What I’m saying is that you don’t need to rely on a man’s minimal love to survive out of fear of being without it. You can be strong enough to pick a guy that is good enough for you.
