Tips to stop comparing myself to my peers? I feel like I’m behind in life sometimes because I don’t have a job exactly in my degree (I kind of do but others are completely in it) even tho I’ve been applying to jobs like crazy with no luck :(

The job market is so so so shit rn. Most people do not have jobs in their degrees. You’re doing great and you still have time to go even further and accomplish all the things you want in life.

I stopped comparing by saying “I’m doing the best I can”. That’s should be enough. Everyone has their own journey, upbringing and support. Lots of ppl I know either got where they are by luck or knowing someone to get them a job.

Idk I just think he is right. As long as you go to school for something you want and are passionate about. Plus having a family is hard work and many women wish they had time to be independent and go to school.

Oh me too my whole friend group is either getting married or married and pregnant or had their kid already and I’m last because I’m the only one in school and feel so behind and I feel like I can’t even live my life because I’m so worried about being behind everyone else and ofc my boyfriend is no help because he wants me to finish school

I don’t understand the rush to have kids. You’ll have nights where you can sleep soundly and have a life not revolved around your kids. Your bf is right finish school so when you do have kids they can be well supported!

It’s definitely not the rush to have kids necessarily it’s more so the feeling of being so behind in life and I can’t seem to shake the feeling or talk myself out of it

That is exactly how’s it’s been for me, so many of my peers got jobs because their parents are friends with people who work at their places of employment now or they didn’t have to work at all and only had to focus on school

I’m lowkey taking it as a sign from the universe to stop doing what I think I should be doing and open myself up to new opportunities instead of applying for one specific type of job
