whoooo boy I’m glad this worked for you but PSA for people considering the implant: for some people (me included) it’s a MISERABLE EXPERIENCE! gained 70 pounds, bled straight for a year, heinous mood swings + was suicidal and felt constantly unstable…hormonal birth control was just not right for me! (on copper IUD now and i love it!!!)

i've been considering getting the implant, how much did it hurt to get? and are the side effects manageable?

be careful because the horror stories are true, mine got embedded into my arm and i needed surgery to get it out. ALWAYS keep on track of making sure you feel for it often

I hated my nexplanon lol, me and my bf kept haveigg bc sex on my period bc I kept bleeding!!💔💔also made me loose lots of blood. Depends on the person frl but birth control in general is bad for you.

getting the implant the first time really didn’t hurt at all, the recovery process for a replacement is a little more rough bc of the removal. i didn’t really have any noticeable side effects except for not having a period

do you recommend it? or is there other weird stuff they don’t tell you (like the process to get it)

i honestly couldn’t recommend it more, it’s been the most convenient and reliable birth control i’ve ever tried and it lasts for 5 years w little to no maintenance, plus i haven’t really had any side effects except for not having a period. also the implant process itself takes like 5 mins and it’s very minimal pain (they numb the area)

it might work amazingly for you but just be aware the side effects are really bad for some

so true!! thank you for sharing your experience too because birth control really is such an individual experience and it’s important for people to find what works for them

it’s super unlikely that it’ll happen, just my luck lol. but yes, just feel for it monthly and let your doctor know if there’s anything out of the ordinary
