Pretty sure my anxiety already took 15 years off my life. No joke

And I think it runs in the background a lot of the time which makes things exhausting

I work at an eye doctor’s office and the other day the doctor told me not to be nervous if I forget something bc he won’t be mad and I was like ok thanks and he said “you always look so anxious when you drop the folders in the bin” and I said “oh that’s my baseline” which he thought was a joke and laughed…crazy how people are just not anxious all the time

it literally is bc the only way to rly cope with it is to develop coping SKILLS. i wasted so many years taking medication that didnt really help and being too scared to ask for a therapist. anxiety disorder is a real mental health issue but it’s also something that’s very manageable if you truly put effort into freeing urself from it

i just started reading “in an unspoken voice” by peter levine and it’s really been helpful! it talks about listening to your body’s unspoken voice and using those signals to work through trauma and anxiety
