Guys I don’t know what to do. Half of my family loves my boyfriend (been together for almost 2 years) and the other half doesn’t like him at all. We both feel like we’re ready for the next step of our relationship 💍 but I’m feeling so defeated

i think this speaks to your guys’ relationship.. It’s not about everyone else, but honestly about the family that YOU TWO will build. Not about anyone else

Your family isn’t marrying him though so their opinions are pretty irrelevant. If you’re seriously considering leaving him because of some (not even all) of your relatives opinions then you should probably leave him. If you loved him enough to be committed forever then it wouldn’t even be a question. You can listen to the haters and be unhappy, or you can ignore them and be happy. You choose.

I’m not considering leaving him, it just makes me really unhappy that members of my family can’t or won’t see how happy he makes me. I want my family (including him) to all get along
