Well there’s a difference between honesty and rude. The people who cant decipher between blatant honesty vs being rude can gtfo, but other than that what’s wrong with lol

People who say they’re “brutally honest” are just mean. You can be honest without being mean. It really isn’t that difficult.

I agree but the term brutally honest stems from unfiltered honesty with the intent to help whereas being mean is meant to hurt someone. You can be “brutally honest” without being rude.

That may be what the term stems from, but in general people say they’re brutally honest when they’re just being mean. And telling someone the entire truth while knowing it may offend or upset them is by definition rude. Whether your intention is to be hurtful or not, it’s still rude. If everyone was blunt with everyone all of the time society would collapse 😂

Not necessarily lol. There’s been a couple people that I’ve been blunt with. Doesn’t mean I was trying to hurt their feelings. They didn’t shower and I told them they should fix it because everyone else was bullying them behind their backs about it. Helped them out in the long run.

However, with most immature people these days I agree they use the term to mask their lack of kindness.
