hii i’m starting college soon and my twin sister has been non stop talking about how sad she’s going to be and spiral into depression once i leave (it’s an hour 40 mins away) it’s really bothering me and making me feel guilty for going to a far college -

Under 2 hours is honestly not that far. You can both very easily visit and spend a weekend together without the drive accounting for an entire day. My partner and I visit his parents about the same distance away pretty often. Also, it’s your education. Maybe she should’ve gone to a college closer to you?

she’s staying home for college and was try to convince me to stay as well but i need to be away from family tbh, any advice bc it’s eating away at me

yeaa i told her we can see each other on the weekends but idk, i tried to convince her to go to the college im going to but she told me she doesn’t want to be away from home

As a sister too, go to the college far because I promise you’ll regret it for not taking the chance. Also as the days go by she will be okay and get used to you not being around all the time. College is a time to get more independent and start thinking for yourself and your future, sadly your sister won’t be there by your side every step of the way but that’s what life is like. You guys won’t be distancing from each other but being away makes seeing each other again so much worth it.

I’m the oldest out of four and my sister is also starting college soon when it’s my last year lol, but I genuinely wish you the best of luck with college and your goals 🫶🏼💕
