I am noticing that men are not approaching as much as they used to. Probably a good solution is that men and women should approach each other at similar rates. The idea that men approach and women accept/reject is outdated. We don’t need to follow dating scripts from the 1950s anymore. If you like a guy, tell him. Don’t wait for him to approach first
I’ve literally only ever been approached by a guy once in my life and he was older. Maybe stop lying about SA/SH and guys will flirt with us again. My older sister literally got catcalled when she was in college and I can’t even get a guy to approach when I wink at him. The world sucks now because of that shit
🤦♀️ saying that it’s her fault and she’s an idiot for not being approached is not making you look any better… But seriously the solution is we need to just flip the script. It’s 2026. We don’t need to wait for men to go first especially if they like you but won’t do it because they’re afraid to. Just go up to them and approach them instead
That’s not when I noticed, I realized this was misogynistic around 15/16, but I’m letting them know catcalling/harassed is horrible. I’m also pointing out that it’s internalized misogyny because I didn’t realize it until I saw someone explain that’s what it was, and after serious and very teenage angst filled reflection, I realized it was true. It helped me get better. And I hope it helps them.
Also it’s very very dangerous to think girls are lying about sexual assault or harassment. I promise you there’s a very small minority of women who do, and a lot of statistics that show the rates of false accusations also include women who rescinded their accusations, usually after severe backlash, which does not mean what happened was fabricated.
