
well i had vsg, so its a little different from the traditional way. but therapy also helped to heal from my trauma with food. working with a nutritionist, and being kind to yourself. understanding what foods help you and what foods don’t (like how ppl say low carb is the way, but for me my body loves carbs and actually functions with them so i don’t cut those out). having someone you feel comfortable with helping you and keeping you accountable at least in the beginning could also be beneficial
also for me, jumping to extremes doesn’t help me stick to habits. like instead of going straight into working out, i start with adding just 5 more minutes to my walk. from then, i keep increasing. so with buying sweets, trying to buy one less at a time, rather than quitting cold turkey. also COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY so try not to compare (easier said than done ik)
