honestly being aware of the wealth gap between me and my peers makes me that much more grateful. i can really appreciate all that i have because i know how much harder my life would be without it

yea same i was thinking about this very thing the other day. a bit silly but for example, i didn’t have the same experiences as some other girls i was in the same sorority with during undergrad just cause of this wealth gap. lowkey everything in life is like this…

Friends will tell me they’re the brokest they’ve ever been and then drop 20 on doordash like I don’t think you understand broke. I was unhoused a few times and it taught me how to survive a bit better, some people need to learn that, although preferably not by being unhoused

That’s fair! And it’s possible that that’s the correct interpretation, I don’t know OP’s life lol. I just know for me I feel this way bcos I have to work full time while in school and don’t rlly have time for extracurriculars and internships and stuff. Seeing my friends fly to India for a research project is a lil rough when I’m trying to do my homework during a shift 😭 happy for them tho ofc

no i reread it and ur right, i just read it wrong the first time😭 im sorry ur in that situation though, i feel like in school u can really only do classes and one other thing, whether that be extracurriculars or internships or working. i did extracurriculars this sem and honestly might be at risk of failing a class because of how little time i had to actually get my work done 😭
