This might be a genuine hot take and I am willing to be convinced otherwise bc I don’t think I understand, but I don’t understand why people are so against Bear and Nikki costumes considering some other couples costumes are from similar themed media

bc it’s a rapist and his victim and sexual violence is much more stigmatized. it’s also a lot harder for victims to get justice, so dressing up as characters like that is a little tone deaf

That’s fair, but going off what #1 said the joker and hq is such a common and socially accepted couples costume that should be comparable but they’re not being held to the same standards if that makes sense?
