I think bc different red lights and different speed limits. Like going on a highway that is 55 mph vs internal rodes that are 25-35 mph

this is why where i’m from we use the phrase “as the crow flies” for example, if i was able to just walk (or fly) straight from point A to point B, it’d be 15 minutes, but because of the way the only available roadway goes, it actually takes 30

I don’t think this is the case bc navigation systems count the actual miles of the rode you are planning to drive on
