This is something I’ve been thinking about too. A lot of my family that spends Christmas together is first generation so none of us have to split up ever…I really can’t imagine not spending Christmas with them but my gfs family does a very big Christmas party so it’s not like she can miss that either

my now husband and I have been together for almost 5 years. we got together in december and by the next holiday season we were splitting it with family. It truly is whatever you guys feel is best.

It caused a lot of emotional distress for me last year as we had planned to spend it together then a week before he backed out and it sounded like his mother didn't want us to even though I just got back from a semester abroad and hadn't seen him in 6 months so it's tense and now I'm avoiding it all together but wonder when that point will be for us? When we get engaged idk?
