Crazy how men can get anesthesia for tattoos, but women can’t get anesthesia for IUDs or cervical biopsies.

what tattoo shop is doing this??? wouldn’t that be offered to both women and men there too?? I do think women should be able to get anesthesia for those things but im confused what the equivalence here is

Ain’t no way I’m paying anesthesiologist prices on top of tattoo prices. In this economy?? Give me a wooden spoon to bite on

Ok but still lol, it should be standard to get PROPER pain relief from IUDs, the concept of anesthesia for tattoos for any gender before standardized pain management for IUDs is crazy

absolutely agree but also personally I have a very low tolerance for pain and as someone who has gotten both an IUD and a tattoo, the tat hurt way more and for much longer. the IUD was more like a particularly bad cramp for a min or two and the tattoo was very painful for awhile. it was also in a painful spot and maybe my doctor was better than other doctors/my ibuprofen worked better? idk

I felt the complete opposite about my IUD and my tat, but also I never got my IUD put in bc of the way my uterus is and they told me if I wanted an IUD they needed to put me under in order to do so

Wait so then did you not get it? If you didn’t get it how do you feel the opposite about the pain? I am confused

I went into get it, they were putting it but it couldn’t go in and so they stopped and told me that I needed a surgery to get it properly put in and so I decided to just not go through with that
