Sewing girls HELP! I have a dress that’s structured on top but the skirt is like a bubble around the hips and gets more pencil-like around the knees. Is there any way to make it more A-line or even just straight???

I would detach the skirt, rip open that back seam, and see what shape is there

Idk what I’m supposed to do w this. I LOVE the color and the fabric is great but it fits like I live in whoville.

If it gets pencil like around the knees, then isn’t that too small to be an a length? Def look up dress patterns and alterations, but I don’t know if you have enough material to do what u want

I have two issues: one is this slit in the pencil-y part at the bottom. The second is that it has pockets. I would be down with keeping the pockets but I don’t know if it’s actually possible. I was wondering if I could literally flip the skirt upside down and reattach if it would be more a-line-ish but then the slit causes issues. Advice appreciated:/

This is the slit and it’s in the back of the skirt, so as you can see there’s also a big seam down the back, and I’m wondering if that will be the saving grace ???

What would be like ideal vs non-ideal shape to work with? The pleated seam is actually very thick so I feel like there’s a decent amount of fabric at the top part (also bc idk what else would make it so “bubble.” It seriously makes me look pregnant at a full 360° lmao)
