colors of the wind is already so beautiful but it’s the end version and the ending song in any old animated disney movie is like shoved so full of everything in the best way possible like the composers put their entire heart and soul into those last pieces

i will always say that Sleeping Beauty is so underrated. unironically no pun intended but it is heavily slept on with the animation, the music, and the story too. the main characters are essentially three older women which is RARE and the love story between Aurora and Phillip is so cute bc he actually gives a fuck about her! he was literally okay with the two kingdoms falling into war just bc he wanted to marry the maiden he met in the glen, not the princess he was betrothed to since childhood!!

Sleeping Beauty is very old in comparison to Pocahontas (by like 40 years) but also Hunchback of Notre Dame is FUCKING INSANE when it comes to the music. it’s horrifying, heartbreaking, inspiring, and unsettling all at once. not to mention if you know anything about the religion and the Romani genocide, it becomes an even darker story than it presents as… it’s one of the only Disney films that approaches racism directly without an animal allegory, with Pocahontas being the other one.
