The more I think about MAGA claiming to the be the “Christian” party the angrier I get. The Bible literally says “what’s done to the least of thee, you have done unto me” and they’re plotting against the least of us CONSTANTLY. Drives me absolutely mad

“Jesus was a 5’4” brown skinned socialist. Nothing like the white man you see on the crucifix, the truth is this, you just don’t notice it” Christians should be far left, with no regard for wealth. We have the money and resources that no one should be hungry or unhoused in this era, and Jesus’ teachings constantly reinforce how money is meaningless compared to caring for the less fortunate. But today’s worst people claim to be his followers, and they feel no shame with their hypocrisy.

Well, it also commands slavery, rape, genocide… so, they’re doing really well on that front.

I’d still be a Christian if today’s organized Christianity were actually Christ-like but I was so overwhelmingly constantly disgusted by what I’d see and hear

I’m a Christian but I stopped going to church. Instead I opted to search for like-minded Christian’s for weekly Bible study & discussion. The Bible doesn’t say anything about having to go to church, it only says “where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them”. I promise you, there are other believers who don’t agree with what Christianity has been bastardized into

The Bible is a collection of stories. Just because things happen in it doesn’t make it right. Jesus said if your right eyes makes you sin then pluck it out… that message is pretty clear imo

He also tells people to not wash their hands, that they’re fools and shouldn’t call others fools, kills a fig tree for no reason, calls a woman pleading for help for her daughter a “dog”, gets pissed at a leper for wanting to be healed, tells people to hate their family to follow him, lies about prayer, scares people with end-times babble, the list goes on.

And he healed that woman’s daughter anyway, the fig tree was dead, the passage about hating your family is hyperbole. The Bible is written by MAN. There will be exaggerations, but at its core it teaches us to care for others, to humbled and treat everyone with kindness. I think the system of a church needs to be disassembled. I believe in God and I know what He asks of us. We can go back and forth all day but neither of us will change the others mind, and that’s okay ❤️

Nice try with the apologetics and cherry-picking, though. Typical christian.

I’m glad for Christians like you who actually follow Christ’s teachings. It’s just exhausting when even Trump depicting himself as Jesus wasn’t enough for many people, my dad included, to turn away from him 🫩 Like of the things this administration is doing, the bingo board of going explicitly against Jesus’s teachings is entirely filling up. It’s just so hard to wrap my mind around why his base are largely “Christian”. Is it simply a group identity rather than a religion at this point?
