he’s really the first that came to mind but i mean there were people all over europe who did similar things. like king leupold was from belgium and he FUCKED the congo up. but it’s always like weird when people make excuses for that (you weren’t, this just reminded me of other stuff) like saying people thought slavery was ok, like the slaves didn’t. they’re still people idk why yall would rather trusting the morals of slave owners over the people they’re enslaving
