As a mixed girl with curly hair I could have such a big conversation about this. First ex only dated girls with straight hair before me. Second ex said he loved my hair both ways, but preferred my straight hair. He dumped me and is dating a girl with pin-straight hair. My current bf is also mixed with curly hair and praises me for my curly hair and encourages me to wear it natural more.

When I would complain about my natural hair being frustrating to my exes when we were dating, their solution was to straighten it. It’s so refreshing to be with someone who truly loves my hair and appreciates it.
