Because unfortunately the flip side of solidarity as a group means you become exclusively labeled as that group. The feminist movement being known for championing womens rights, rather than human rights of which women belong, means that those rights are now granted by category. (Note: I am not saying feminism only champions womens rights, im saying thats how it is known.)

that’s a very succinct way to put it and i agree. in ADDITION to solidarity theres also the historical precedent of what the job has been dominated by in the past or are known as ‘pink collar jobs’ — i’m thinking of “male nurses” in particular
