no he's being dumb as hell. if he's known his dads bday was coming he should've preplanned this. u can't just cancel preplanned events with other ppl just for his poor planning. that's how u lose friends

not the bad guy at all. i would be pissed if i was the friend and got cancelled on for the bf. the bf needs to realize you can’t drop everything for him and that you have a life outside of him. plus him reacting with attitude is a red flag

Wanted me to go to dinner with them I replied and said I had plans already He was short with me rest of yesterday and this morning. I asked him what was wrong and he said “I want you to celebrate my dads birthday with me but your plans with your friends are more important “ I said “I’ve had these plans for the past few weeks and you just now told me yesterday about your dad’s birthday and dinner. Not sure how any of that’s is my fault.”

100%. I’m literally married and we’ve both had different plans for birthdays, holidays, and other events. If something was planned earlier, that almost always takes precedent
