okay please check out a local humane society/animal shelter in your area and see if they do food shares or anything like that. my animal shelter has one and it’s for people who are in a financial struggle.

just double check online about what human food is safe for now and most stores have 50 cent to dollar single serve cans & if you live in a dorm I’m sure somebody would be willing to share

Keeping an animal you can’t afford to take care of is animal abuse

Anonymous#514w
if u can’t take care of an animal u shouldn’t have the animal. housing status irrelevant

Aw

Anonymouscookie14w
but is that how u feel about homeless ppl with pets ?
1
Anonymous#514w
If they’re incapable of getting appropriate food for the animal yes, it’s cruel to keep something inside your house or attached to you if you’re not going to feed it. Shelters exist

honestly yeah like if you’re struggling to properly feed and take care of your pet as well as you should then yes i think they should be surrendered as well

Anonymous#114w
she’s not saying she’s not going to feed them she said she’s still feeding them just not cat food

🍪
Anonymous#514w
she’s also saying she doesn’t have litter. how are u gonna have a cat and no litter
6
Anonymous#514w
Notice how I said “appropriate food” not “whatever other kinds of human food they already have”
Just because some human foods are safe for some animals to eat doesn’t mean they’re going to provide the correct nutrients the animal needs

Anonymouscookie14w
news paper, paper towels, sand etc

Thanks, I’ll do so tomorrow 😇

Anonymouswitchy_salem14w
obviously not the best but like meow mix is pretty cheap and is at most grocery stores. fancy feast is wet food and also inexpensive, they usually come in bulk

Anonymous#714w
friskies is a good cheap option too, but i prefer fancy feast. it really depends on what you have access to. also OP, at the shelter, we use ripped up newspaper for litter alternatives for cats that have had surgery so the litter doesn’t irritate the stitches.
