I feel like it’s so easy to tell when someone genuinely believes what they’re saying versus rage baiting, but maybe that’s just me. It’s also irritating to see someone have a different opinion on something completely apolitical and harmless and get “rage bait” comments or harsh reactions. And when I say apolitical, I genuinely mean like fighting to the death over someone saying they don’t like cats or some shit

sometimes when people just try and restate their argument over and over again it can seem like it's just trying to get a reaction out of people instead of actually having a discussion, yes it's misused but it's also not that big of a deal because you don't know how the other person feels and sometimes people are terrible communicators through these comment sections so things come across weirdly

But that’s why I always ask someone to explain their post a little more if it seems polarizing before I immediately go for their throat like some people here

Yeah in my most recent experience it was disagreeing about shaving and hair length and whether it’s considered part of hygiene 😭 like I’m not allowed to engage with the post and disagree with you??

Right like you have to know you’re in the wrong with that. But I’ve seen people here throw a whole fit over someone saying they don’t like *their own* birthday like ??? this isn’t rage bait I just think they genuinely don’t like it and that’s okay 😭

Yeah true but you also don’t know how the person being falsely accused feels bc they’re trying to just engage in conversation civilly but then get accused of rage baiting bc they disagree. Then they’re completely shut down once that accusation is thrown & it can lead to trolling. Also some ppl just have really repetitive thought patterns bc they’re used to not being listened to, ppl shouldn’t assume they’re trying to get a rise out of anyone unless there’s solid evidence of that. Not just vibes
