“how’s working in a high school?” this is a question that sophomores had to answer in us1 history and someone responded “i don’t know what this question means” it could not be more clear what it’s asking. and we went over the answer as a class.

Why is a formal question including “how’s” in its sentence construction? You should not use “how’s” in that question. Just ask “How IS IT LIKE working in a high school?”, but even that is vague. How do you want them to answer? Based on what they think being a teacher is like even though they’ve never been one!?

it’s used in the same way as asking someone “how’s your day” “how’s your food” etc. this is a question i get asked frequently and people don’t know how bad it currently is working in education so i’m sharing my experience. it’s a yikyak post with a limited character count for fucks sake

Yes but in a college exam, you should not use “How’s your day” because that is INFORMAL writing. You should not use “how’s” on an exam.

When you write an exam, make sure your questions are crystal clear. Again, what do you want them answering? How it is like to be a teacher? Because “working in a high school” includes the janitors, too. It includes ANYONE employed in that high school.

Uh… no? Your post says this: “this is a question that sophomores had to answer in us1 history” And I’m explaining to you WHY they were confused by that question and WHY it was poorly written.

did you even look at the picture?? the sophomores weren’t answering “how’s working in a high school”. they were answering “what do you think “unalienable rights” (or “inalienable rights”) means? (use a dictionary if you need to)”

Then WHY THE FUCK does your post say “How’s working in a high school” if that’s not what you’re talking about

cause as i explained before, this is a question that i get asked, as someone who works in a high school, and i’m responding to the question by showing evidence and telling a story on how awful it is and sharing with the masses. it’s very obvious what im saying.

that’s just you not using common sense. because why the fuck else would a picture of a history question be attached if that wasn’t relevant???
